Experience Progress

At Schüco, the “BAU 2019” trade fair is held under the slogan “Experience Progress”. At the fair, Schüco will be presenting new products and digital services that take up important technological developments, provide answers to market requirements and meet the desire for sustainability. It is the declared aim to present Schüco at the fair without a single sheet of printed paper. We were able to make a contribution to this with the Schüco “Doku Center” app, which has been expanded to include a trade fair function especially for the BAU 2019 exhibition. The “Doku Center” contains all relevant catalogues, technical documentation and brochures, which can be found and accessed quickly and easily using a global search function. QR codes were attached to the individual exhibits, which could be read in with the scanner in the app to call up the corresponding information in the app directly.

Project description

Support in Software Development and Consulting for Development Processes as well as Operations Monitoring

LS telcom is a worldwide leading provider of technologies and consulting services for the efficient use of the radio frequency spectrum across all radio services.

The mySPECTRA platform enables regulators to implement fully automated, process-based electronic frequency management. Through the complete integration of their spectrum management and radio monitoring systems, state-of-the-art data analytics, data mining, and inventory management have found their way into spectrum management.

The platform consists of individual microservices (e.g., licensing of aircraft frequencies, applications for managing equipment, antennas, and locations), which use Spring Boot and Micronaut. For asynchronous message exchange between services, Apache Kafka is utilized. The frontend consists of Vue.js components provided via Storybook, which are integrated into a Grails application including plugins. In the frontends, a configurator can be used to set up multi-step forms (validation rules, hiding fields based on certain conditions, labels, etc.).

We have also analyzed the development process at LS telcom and, together with the client in workshops, discussed potential improvements and innovative technologies. The main focus was on structuring base software in combination with the recurring need for individual customizations to this software in specific customer projects.

As a Product Owner and later as Head of Systems Integrations, I had the pleasure of collaborating with COMINTO — particularly Torsten and several of his developers — for over six years. Throughout this time, I consistently received invaluable support.

Together, we worked on projects involving technologies that were, at the time, new to our teams: microservices within a Kafka-mediated event-driven architecture, building and organizing a library of JavaScript components, introducing the speed and flexibility of graph databases, and offering low-code/no-code customization within a PaaS product. COMINTO was with us every step of the way, integrating seamlessly into our teams and becoming a reliable and trusted partner for our developers.

The COMINTO team stands out not only for their technical expertise but also for their customer-centric mindset, patience, and friendly, approachable attitude —qualities that, in my experience, are not always guaranteed in such consulting companies. They clearly draw from a strong internal knowledge base, which they generously share with their clients.

Whether you’re looking for a partner to build a full application or to strengthen your existing tech teams, I would strongly recommend working with COMINTO. They are committed, capable, and very likely to exceed your expectations.

Ideenkapital

Ideenkapital

Ideenkapital – Investor Management

Ideenkapital Anlegerverwaltung Screenshot

Project description

Between 1994 and 2011, the Ideenkapital Group, as a fund initiator, placed around EUR 2.9 billion in equity through closed-end fund investments for around 20,000 investors in the German investment market. Including additional borrowed funds, national and international investments with a total volume of EUR 4.3 billion were made. Since spring 2011, Ideenkapital has no longer designed and sold new fund investments and is concentrating on managing the existing assets and supporting investors until the end of the respective term of the originally 50 funds designed.

Since the existing software essentially supported data maintenance (master data, share data) as well as bookings and distributions, but not, for example, longer workflows such as processing an inheritance, a share transfer or account returns and EMA requests, a new software was required.

In addition to the master data management of funds, customers and shares as well as distributions, divisions and shareholder meetings, the new implementation of the web application “Investor Management” also contains additional functions for processing workflows (e.g. inheritance cases, distribution returns and EMA queries), an interface to the banking system for the processing of payments, an integration of the E-mail inbox as well as numerous reports and an interface to the document management system.

The application was realized using the following technologies: Java, Spring Boot, Vaadin, Quartz, REST, Apache POI, agorum API, JUnit, Mockito, Selenium, Testbench, Testcontainers, Liquibase, Mapstruct, MariaDB, Tomcat, Maven, GitLab, Jenkins, Sonar Qube, Nexus, Jira, Docker

Project description

In its Electrical Sector, the energy management company develops and distributes components for residential applications as well as circuit protection and industrial controls for machinery applications. A comprehensive online platform consisting of an online catalog, data sheets, and download center provides customers and Eaton employees with a convenient way to access product information. The online catalog allows easy navigation through the various product groups and offers extensive search and filter options. Data sheets provide all the details about the products and can be saved as PDF or Excel files. Lastly, the download center allows for bulk queries of product data, such as product descriptions in various languages, data sheets, documentation, or technical product images.

Numerous technologies such as PHP, JavaScript, Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, MySQL, Solr, Elasticsearch were used in the implementation of the project.

Since 2009, Eaton has maintained a partnership with COMINTO.

One result of this collaboration is an online platform for technical product data. But it is much more than just a platform for viewing product data; it is a powerful environment offering numerous user-friendly functionalities that ultimately lead to the satisfaction of both our customers and Eaton.

COMINTO impresses not only with its high competence in implementing technical solutions but also with its consistently pleasant, straightforward, and timely service.
