Project description

At Otto (GmbH & Co KG), the company faced a particular challenge: its in-house IT system for direct marketing, which is also used by its subsidiaries, needed to be linked to Deutsche Post’s complex postage optimization software. Postage data had to be transferred to the Deutsche Post application, and the optimized rates and sorting options then had to be fed back into the company’s own system.

COMINTO developed an intelligent interface solution that seamlessly connects both systems. All relevant data is automatically processed and transferred in both directions—without requiring any changes to the existing systems themselves.

The result is a smooth integration between internal processes and Deutsche Post’s requirements. As a result, Otto can leverage optimal postage and significantly reduce postage costs per mailing campaign.

Various technologies were used to implement the project, including Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, JAXB, and Flyway.
